As you probably know, I am part of the STN Fall Challenge for the Feature Story category. It is basically an extended Spot Feature, it is 6 days long and 3 minutes, or a shortened quarter project, instead of a quarter, we only get 6 days. Today is the 3rd day of the competition and we are going along great. The topic we were given is United Nation, what we are doing with this topic is the story on the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, an all Japanese-American battalion that was created after the bombing of Pearl Harbor to prove that the Japanese-Americans were loyal to America because many people believed that they would choose the side of the Japanese if Japanese soldiers were to march into the US. Many were placed in internment camps, the country began to not trust Japanese-Americans, and that is why the 442nd wanted to prove their loyalty. For this story, we interviewed two veterans, one from the combat team, and another who worked with the 442nd in the MIS (Military Information Service) to basically get all the information that a colonel would need for an effective strategy. We are at the editing stage, placing b-roll into the sequence on our first draft. I will put a link to the contest site below so you can check it out, I will post our video up when we are done with it so come back and check it out! Bye for now!
I am in 8th grade in my school's Advanced Media class. I love this class and I have been having lots of fun in it. This past year we went to San Diego, where STN was held, and the year before it was in Orlando. This year it was in Atlanta, Georgia.
