Have you ever wandered what you would have to do in a competition? Well, this blog is all about that. It is about what category I want to be in for STN. Also why I want to be in it.
The contest I want to be in and most likely will be in is Spot Feature. I want to be in it because it is what I like to do. I have done a total of 11 news stories, working on my 12th. I have done 3 so far for my two 1st quarter projects and one for my only 2nd quarter project. I have also done 4 Spot Feature practices last year, one Spot Feature competition, one Sweet 16 broadcast news story, and one Sweet 16 broadcast news story competition. I even chose to do a news story for my 4th quarter project. I am currently working on my 2nd quarter news story project, which makes up the 11 news stories and the 12 in the process.
I also was on Spot Feature last year, and I know the pressure of the competition. My 2 partners and I completed the news story about 45 minuets early with reviewing the final version many and many times, improving it more and more. We also won the 1st place middle school Spot Feature competition last year.
The most important reason is because I like doing news stories, and have done many others. I am much better at technical parts of media then the storyline part. I can do well filming, but not with ideas, making it harder for me to do the other competitions. In this competition, I is half and half with the two parts, or at least I feel that way.
I want to be on the Spot Feature team, and I probably will be. I want to know who I will be with when it comes down to the point when we know who will be doing what. I am excited to find out what everyone will be doing for STN. Well, now you know what I would like to do for STN and why, so I will see you later, Bye!
I am in 8th grade in my school's Advanced Media class. I love this class and I have been having lots of fun in it. This past year we went to San Diego, where STN was held, and the year before it was in Orlando. This year it was in Atlanta, Georgia.
