For this blog, I will be telling you one of my passions. I have a couple, I have a passion for camera work and video editing. I also have a passion for playing the trumpet and in a concert band seeing that I am in 3. One of my biggest passions though is engineering.
I love electrical and computer engineering (computer programming). I have done many things on the subject, I have participated in a Lego robotics competition, I have completed soldering kits and used a soldering iron to fix a drone, I have built countless circuits with little toy-like things called Snap Circuits. For computer programming, I got "The World's Cheapest PC", which is the Raspberry Pi, the regular pack is only $35, and it has a bunch of cool features on it. The memory storage isn't a hard drive, it's a micro SD card. It's a really small thing, it's like taking 3 or 4 credit cards stacking them up, and then that's the size of the Raspberry Pi. Of course, it can't do much, but it isn't really for usual use. It's designed for programming, it's also so cheap and small that it is now widely being used in robots and prototypes. I have been doing some coding on that for a little while. I also went to the BYU Chip Camp that kind of covered both of these topics.
I can't remember too well when I started doing these things, but I think that I started in 3rd grade when I joined our robotics class that participated in the FLL (First Lego League) which is a Lego robotics competition. After I got out of that class I got my own NXT, which is the robot used in the FLL. After that I got the Snap Circuits. Then about a few years later I went to the BYU Chip Camp, then the soldering kits. I kept on doing more and more things and now I know a decent amount of stuff on the topic.
To continue this passion, I will simply keep on doing the things I am doing, I'll probably get some new things too so that I can enhance my knowledge. I am going to learn more and get better at programming.
Well, that's all I have for now. Next week will be my last week for my regular blogs until next quarter, the week after that I will be blogging everyday starting Wednesday for two weeks. We will finally be on our STN Trip for the year. Well, come back soon for some more. Bye!
I am in 8th grade in my school's Advanced Media class. I love this class and I have been having lots of fun in it. This past year we went to San Diego, where STN was held, and the year before it was in Orlando. This year it was in Atlanta, Georgia.
