In this blog I am going to tell you how I hope this year is going to be like. Most of all I hope that I will be able to get all of my projects, radios, and other assignments. That can actually be harder then you think sometimes. Also I want to get good grades and do a good job on all of my assignments. Also I hope that I will be able to become good friends with all the new students in media. It looks like that this is the end of my blog so come back soon for my next blog!
For first quarter I think we are a little behind on our project. First I will tell you about my 1st Quarter Project. Then I will tell you why I think we are behind. Finally I will tell you how we are going to catch up on our project.
My partner for this project is a seventh grader like me who joined the media class this year named Kallen Wachi. We are doing our project on a man who is 101 years old and name is Papa Fu. Only last year he retired from harvesting salt at salt pond and working at Da Imu Hut restraunt. To add on to everything else, he also plays the harmonica.
We are behind mainly because we switched topics to Papa Fu from the Tege Tege Shave Ice truck. I just finished re-making the TIAS today and are going to get an interview some time this week.
I think we will be able to easily finish up on time because it won't take too long to make the script and the transcription and then the editing is a really easy part for me. I will teach Kallen and let him dd some and then I will finish it up and make sure it is good. If I needed to I could take home a laptop and edit it at home. I have once fully edited a whole news story in less then 4 hours on my 4th quarter project last year so we will be able to quickly finish up the news story if it comes down to that.
I have a feeling that we will be able to finish our project on time and that it will be a good news story. This is the end of this blog so come back soon for my next! Bye!
This year we do not have any more morning announcements, we now have ...
CKTV News! Everything is still the same but the time we do the announcements, the opening for the announcements, and the amount. (Refer back to my last blog to find out more about the time and amount that we have advisory here.) We now do it during the two advisories and record the announcements for the second team that has advisory. I was the first and so far only to make a new opening for the announcements and it will most likely be played in two days. We now only say CKTV News and then the schedule for the day is shown and finally we show all the Hana Maka'i ticket holders and not just three and then the announcers take over. The opening now last 60 seconds but that is fine. I think it will take some to get use to the new CKTV News but we will eventually get the hang of it. Check back soon for my next blog. Bye!
For the first topic of the school year we have to tell about our first week of school. I think that the first week of school that was not the best. One was the new schedule. Another is the new bus. Finally, I am going to tell you what I liked about the week.
The new schedule was probably the worst and still is. We now have ten periods instead of eight and we also have another hour of school. The lunch is also done different. The lunch is now half the school, depending on your team, goes to eat while the others have advisory and then vise-versa. If your friends are on the other team, you will never see them at lunch.
I think the bus ride for me is one of the worst things. We had a really small bus last year, but this year it is more then 10 times bigger. They combined the biggest bus (C12) with the smallest (C11, my bus) and now about 5 people have to triple up because there is so many people riding my bus now. Luckily they all get off at the second stop.
There were some good things about the first week too. Some were being able to see some of my friends that I only see at school and also I got to find out who my new partner is for the school year.
It has been a while since I have wrote a blog on this website but it wont be a while until I write another. Come back soon for my next blog. Bye!
I am in 8th grade in my school's Advanced Media class. I love this class and I have been having lots of fun in it. This past year we went to San Diego, where STN was held, and the year before it was in Orlando. This year it was in Atlanta, Georgia.
