The reason why I say almost ready is because I am almost ready to start editing. I am still transcribing but am almost done. Soon I will be starting on my script which I do not worry about it taking too long. I plan to get at least half the script done by Wednesday. It's getting a little late and I have things to do so I hope you comeback soon for more of my blogs!
For this blog, Mr. Matsunaga wanted us to say what we think of doing community service and what to do for the community service. I will first say about what I think about it and if we have enough time. Second, it will be about what I think we should do. Finally, how often we should do it and why we should do it that often.
I think we should do the community service. Also I think we would have enough time to do it. I think we should do it because I agree with Mr. M. He thinks that the community has done many things for us. They have either donated, bought our fundraisers, or supported us in another way. I already know that we would have time.
What I think we should do for community services are one, maybe we could get some businesses that we could make a short commercial for free for them. A second could be filming more shows like the science show that we do. Or we could just do a common community service that are usually done.
I think we should do it every quarter. I think this because we might not have time to do it any other time and then we have plenty of time to plan them. When it comes to filming something like the science show, we should do it as often as we can.
This is the last paragraph I can make so tell me if you agree with these ideas or if you have any others. See you for now!
On my project I have done all my interviews and gotten all my b-roll. I have to get my paperwork done soon. That should be pretty easy to do. After that I just have to edit then I will be done. I think I am pretty close to finishing. See you for now!
I will now tell you about the best and the worse things that happened on the STN trip. I will tell you three things that I liked and a couple of things I did not like. First will be the good things. Second will be the not so good.
First thing that I liked was the amusement parks we went to. I liked all the amusement parks. I can't tell which one I liked most. All were fun and usually had lots to do. The second thing I liked was the rides. We would almost always be on a ride or seeing an attraction.
The third thing that I liked about the trip was the time we had in the houses to just relax. We would always have time to do what we wanted when we were in the houses. We could play pool, air hockey, or on our own personal electronics. Sadly we could not go into the pool that was there at the houses in the backyard.
I will only have one paragraph of the bad things. The main one is that we spent about a fourth of the time at amusement parks eating or shopping. We would often stop for one or two people to get a quick snack and while we stopped others wanted other things so we had to wait for them too but they got things that would take longer to eat. One example is when lots of people got turkey legs. Those would be easy to eat while walking but instead we sat. It is not just me who thinks this, I have asked others and they agree with me.
This is the end of the things that I did and did not like. I liked way more things, but could only put three on my blog. I he fun over all and I hope that if you went that you agree with me. This is the end so see you later!
On my fourth quarter project, I chose to do a news story on the Kalaheo Elementary School playground problem. I have all ready done both of my interviews. The first was of Mr. Burkman who is the school principle and of Hilary Johnson who is the PTSA president. I think the interview went well and that I got a good amount of answers. This blog has come to an end now so see you later.
I will tell you about the most valuable lessons that I learned on the trip. The first is that I learned is that I am more capable then I thought I was. Also I learned that you need to trust your teammates because they can also do more then you might think they can. Finally you should never set your expectations too high for someone, not to be mean.
First I learned that you should believe in yourself because you can do more then you think you can. For instance, I never thought I could stay up till midnight every night for a week and not be too tired. Also I did not think that it would be as easy as it was to get first place in the spot feature competition as it seemed. Over all you should now that you might just amaze yourself with how much better you could be then you think.
Also your teammates will sometimes surprise you with what they can do too. Sometimes when you are out making a video and your teammates come up with an idea that could be something that most people would never find think of. Sometimes when you are making a script one of your teammates could come up with a good pun or a word play and you might never would have thought of it. That has happened to me a couple of times.
Finally, not to be mean, but you should never set your expectations of some one too high. I say this because if you do you might feel like they are not as good as you thought. You should always set it low and let them impress you because then they will seem like they are better then you thought. Just to not to be mean and offend anyone on accident, I will not give any examples. This will make it seem to you that other people are good at things and not bad.
I would appreciate it if you think good about what I have said in this blog and these might be the same for you too. You never know. This blog has come to an end so looks like I have to go. Bye!
I am in 8th grade in my school's Advanced Media class. I love this class and I have been having lots of fun in it. This past year we went to San Diego, where STN was held, and the year before it was in Orlando. This year it was in Atlanta, Georgia.
