It's that time of year again where all the students in this media class gives advice to any of the new students starting up next year. That is exactly what I will do right now. First I will tell you how to avoid and why you shouldn't be late on anything. I will then tell you how to avoid and why you shouldn't think you have all the time in the world to do something. I will finally tell you some other less important things to know.
You never want to be late on anything. it will do more to your grade than you might think it will. If you even turn in your inside scoops 2 days late, your grade for your inside scoops could go down to a 3 instead of a 4. One way you can prevent this from happening to you is by simply starting on it early, work on it when you can, and simply by being productive when you do get to work on it.
You also should also make sure that it is not in your head that you can get this or this done in a week, it's no problem, until you see the amount of corrections you have. That is just what happened to Dalson and I this 4th quarter. We thought a week was enough to get our scripts done in our busy days and we did, but we still are working on it, almost done, but very late. We have had to change it a whole lot. Again, you can avoid this by simply starting on it early, work on it when you can, and simply by being productive when you do get to work on it, just like I said before for the part about not being late on things, which is caused because of this.
You also need to know that you should not procrastinate, and if you don't know what that means, I found a video and posted it up a few blogs ago, but I will post it again below. That is the leading cause, it seems, of people not getting A's on their many projects in media. Also, you want to always work proficiently on whatever you are doing, it will save you a lot of trouble.
I hope that all of next years new students, and returnees, do good next year, knowing what and what not to do. See you soon, bye!
I am in 8th grade in my school's Advanced Media class. I love this class and I have been having lots of fun in it. This past year we went to San Diego, where STN was held, and the year before it was in Orlando. This year it was in Atlanta, Georgia.
